Grateful, Glad, & Giving

What is Stewardship?
At its most basic, it's how we care for the gifts we have received from God. It means taking care of our environment, of other people and of ourselves. Stewardship is the wise and faithful use of our resources - our time, talents and treasure - all of which we believe have come to us from God. Stewardship is about community - everybody belonging to this wonderful St. Michael's Family. It's a kind of personal thanksgiving to God for all the gifts God has given us. Does my pledge really matter?
It most certainly does! To many people, it comes as a big surprise to discover that St. Michael's is not a wealthy church. The truth is that St. Michael's manages to maintain its wonderful facility, staff & programs only through the giving of members like you - we rely on everybody. Unlike many churches, we do not have an endowment to fall back on in times of need - just those precious pledge envelopes!

Time and Talents also matter.
This year we have included a Time and Talent survey as part of the pledge card. To assist you in completing this survey we have a sample of the ministries at St. Michael's and the community. This listing is below the proportional giving guide.

What is Proportional Giving?
It is simply committing to give a specific percentage of your income to St. Michael's. While 10% (the Biblical tithe) of gross income is the goal, we recognize that you may not feel called or equipped to tithe right now and Proportional Giving allows you to systematically work towards the tithe goal by starting at a lower percentage and increasing by 1% or more each year. We ask respectfully that you take this year's stewardship as seriously as we're all taking God's calling to fulfill the mission and vision of St. Michael's. Everybody is important to this effort, no matter the size of your pledge.

If you need help completing your pledge or would like to talk or pray with a member of the clergy or pledge treasurer, Harry Hills, please contact the church office. Click here to download a pledge card.
